Dental Implants: Attractive and Reliable Tooth Restorations

Dental implants are the gold standard of tooth-replacement options amongst the dental community. Unlike dentures, they won’t slip, slide, or fall out of your mouth during your everyday activities. That means you can eat, drink, and socialize with confidence again.

Dr. Spadafora designs the implant so that the permanent porcelain crown is the only area of the implant that people will see. He’ll ensure that the crown matches the color of your natural teeth by using a shade guide.

Furthermore, dental implants provide our Hermitage patients with a comfortable and convenient tooth-replacement option that’s a durable and long-lasting addition to any smile. Beyond their aesthetic appeal, dental implants are also the most cost-effective treatment option available.

Our Implant Solutions

A dental implant is composed of three parts—the fixture, the abutment, and the porcelain crown.

During your first visit, Dr. Spadafora will surgically place the implant fixture on your jawbone. The fixture works like the roots of your natural teeth, securing the implant in place. We craft the fixture from a titanium alloy that’s biocompatible, meaning your jawbone will fuse with it through the process of osseointegration—the bonding of implant and bone.

The abutment sits on top of the fixture and acts as the connection that holds the other pieces together. Dr. Spadafora will attach the abutment after your mouth has adjusted to the implant fixture.

Finally, Dr. Spadafora will apply the porcelain crown, which he’ll secure to the abutment. Once in place, the crown is the only portion of the implant that anyone will see. Our crowns are custom-designed to match the shape, size, color, and durability of your natural teeth.

The Hazards of Tooth Loss

One thing that we know for sure is that your oral health directly links to your overall health. For this reason, those who suffer from tooth loss may be at risk of developing a severe medical condition such as a stroke, heart attack, Alzheimer’s disease, and diabetes.

Furthermore, tooth loss can lead to dental complications like gum disease, jawbone depletion, and misaligned teeth.

Dr. Spadafora and the rest of our dental team will use dental implants to boost your esteem, providing you with a smile you’ll be proud to have.

Am I a Candidate for Dental Implants?

Technological advances in implant dentistry make dental implants available to more patients than ever before. However, there are a few conditions that need to deal with before you can begin the dental implant process.

For example, if your jaw lacks bone density, Dr. Spadafora might recommend a bone graft. We can use bone grafts to strengthen your jaw, so dental implants are possible. Moreover, we offer supplemental treatments to remedy any condition that currently restricts you from the smile of your dreams.
